Chocolate Belgian Waffles with Strawberries and Cream
This recipe was an entry into Sun Flour Mills' Baking Contest. This is a sweet decadent breakfast or dessert option.
Ingredients
- 1 box Sun Flour Mills Chocolate Cake Mix
- 3 eggs
- ⅔ cup oil
- 1 cup water
- strawberries or fruit of choice
- whipped cream
- chocolate covered strawberries (optional)
Instructions
- COMBINE chocolate cake mix, eggs, oil, and water in a mixing bowl. Mix until well blended.
- SPRAY your waffle maker with non-stick spray, put in about ¾ cup of batter, and let bake. Be careful taking it out as the cake will be tender and moist.
- PLACE 1st waffle on a plate, cover in whipped cream and strawberries if desired. Place another waffle on top and dollop your whipped cream adding more strawberries. Sprinkle it with powdered sugar and drizzle with dark chocolate.
Notes
- Top with a chocolate covered strawberry.
- Omit eggs for a Vegan Belgian Waffle
- Use whipped coconut cream for dairy-free option
