Flaky Pie Crust
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Sun Flour Mills Pastry Flour
- 1/2 tsp xanthan gum
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup dairy free margarine or butter
- 1 tsp corn syrup agave nectar, or honey
- 7-9 tsp ice cold water
Instructions
- In a large bowl whisk together SFM Pastry Flour, xanthan gum, and salt
- Cut in dairy free butter.
- Dough will resemble coarse crumbs
- Stir in corn syrup agave nectar or honey and the ice cold water 1 tsp at a time until the dough forms a ball
- Spray 2 large sheets of aluminum foil with non-stick spray
- Roll the dough between the 2 sheets of foil to 1/3 inch thickness
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hr
- Peel off the top sheet of foil and invert rolled dough into an 8-9 inch pie plate.
- Peel off the other sheet of foil
- Prick with a fork in several areas
- Bake at 350 degrees for 16-18 minutes, or until golden brown
